Apart from apparently going around boasting about killing a Garda killer , was there any actual hard evidence against him ? Like the Derek Bentley case many years ago in England, when a police officer is killed on duty, everyone from police colleagues to the general public want to see someone go down for it.

Absolutely zero evidence exists this fellow killed that gaurd,or was part of a gang what set out to kill a gaurd
